Principal Software Engineer Lead (C#/.Net)

This position is responsible for enhancing and maintaining existing software products as well as developing new products. The ideal candidate has a strong desire for excellence, with confidence in their expertise, and is a creative problem solver.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use.
  • Build new features and enhance existing functionality in our products
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development cycle, including development, QA, release, and maintenance
  • Maintain a high level of code quality and software engineering best practices
  • Strong proficiency in C#/.NET programming language.
  • 3+ years combined mobile experience in Xamarin/Maui technologies and mobile application deployments
  • Experience with Back End technologies and frameworks like ASP.NET Core
  • Experience with web APIs and RESTful services for integrating with Back End systems.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git/MS DevOps.
  • Experience with MVVM, Prism, or other similar frameworks as well as experience/Exposure to Java (not a must, but nice to have)
  • Experience with unit and integration testing
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills

Staff Management

  • Manage a team of developers, their workloads, expectations, communication of progress between staff and upper management.
  • Manage employee’s performance, time off requests, 1:1 meetings, quarterly check-ins and goals, & growth opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to employees, facilitate teamwork, provide guidance, motivate & recognize staff.
  • Help identify and address staff training & development needs.
  • Work with senior management to recruit new staff.
  • Help identify, prioritize, and execute tasks to meet project deadlines; Ensure procedures are followed by staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferably 10+ or more years of experience. Higher educational qualification in a relevant field.
  • Proven previous experience in a Senior Software Engineer role.
  • Superior working knowledge of Agile Project development methodology and the ability to implement those methodologies in active projects.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the relevant programming language requirements for this role and the ability to share that knowledge with team members.
  • Proven leadership as a project leader or as a subject matter expert.
  • Coordinate project activities of co-located and remote team members.
  • Clear and concise communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Presentation and mentoring skills
