NOTE: Candidates to be located in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA metro areas only as we are looking to build co-located clusters of employees that can meet in an office for collaboration and design.

Who you are:

Archipelago is seeking engineering interns to join our growing team. As an engineering intern, you will gain skills that range from technical, interpersonal, and problem-solving while working on real-world software at scale. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a talented, passionate, and mission-driven group. We iterate quickly, ship every week, build for the long term, and are looking for smart, independent engineers who want to ply their trade with like-minded people.

Responsibilities:

  • As a software engineering intern, you’ll use your technical skills to architect, build, deploy and iterate on new features and capabilities of the Archipelago application stack.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, design, and product to build out new capabilities and designs
  • Think broadly and ask questions about our systems and processes
  • Produce high quality work which adheres to our professional standards
  • Prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage deadlines accordingly
  • Handle, manipulate and analyze data and information responsibly
  • Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner - verbally and in materials produced
  • Own the quality of your deliverable through good design, implementation and unit testing

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors and/or Masters degree program
  • Majoring in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics degree
  • Rising Junior/Senior
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem solving & analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong independent judgment and leadership skills

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Go, Javascript, AWS, and/or SQL

Internship Duration: This is a temporary, full-time position (Monday to Friday) with a total internship period of approximately two months. This position is non-exempt.
