We are looking for a Director – Data Science to lead our AI and Machine Learning initiatives, with a strong focus on Generative AI, NLP, and Large Language Models (LLMs). This is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining the AI vision, driving innovation, leading high-performing data science teams, and delivering enterprise-grade AI products that create measurable customer impact.

As a key technology leader, you will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Sales, and Executive Leadership to shape Aviso AI's product roadmap and establish best-in-class AI capabilities.

What You'll Do

Strategic AI Leadership

• Define and execute Aviso AI's long-term AI and Machine Learning strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Drive innovation across Generative AI, NLP, Conversational Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, and Revenue Intelligence.
• Identify emerging AI technologies and evaluate opportunities to incorporate them into Aviso's platform.

Lead AI Product Innovation

• Architect and oversee the development of enterprise-scale AI solutions powered by LLMs, transformer-based models, and advanced machine learning techniques.
• Lead initiatives across conversational AI, summarization, recommendation systems, forecasting, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation.
• Build scalable AI capabilities that solve complex customer challenges in CRM, sales intelligence, and revenue operations.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Build, mentor, and scale a world-class team of Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Applied AI Researchers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
• Establish engineering and research best practices, code quality standards, and model governance processes.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Sales teams to translate business needs into AI-powered solutions.
• Serve as the AI thought leader across the organization and influence product direction through data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with customers and executive stakeholders to understand business challenges and define AI strategies.

AI Platform & Production Excellence

• Lead the end-to-end AI lifecycle including research, experimentation, model development, deployment, monitoring, optimization, and governance.
• Drive scalable MLOps practices, ensuring robust, reliable, and production-ready AI systems.
• Define AI architecture standards for performance, scalability, security, and responsible AI adoption.

Research & Innovation

• Stay at the forefront of advancements in Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI, Deep Learning, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Evaluate emerging research and rapidly translate innovations into production-ready enterprise solutions.
• Represent Aviso AI through technical publications, conferences, and industry engagements where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

Education

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 12+ years of experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning.
• 5+ years of experience leading high-performing AI/Data Science teams.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale AI products from concept to production.
• Experience driving AI strategy and influencing executive-level technology decisions.

Technical Expertise

• Deep expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (GPT, Llama, Claude, Gemini, etc.), BERT, T5, and transformer architectures.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern AI frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
• Expertise in NLP, conversational AI, information retrieval, RAG architectures, recommendation systems, forecasting, and predictive modeling.
• Strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and modern AI architectures.
• Experience deploying AI platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP with strong knowledge of MLOps, model governance, and scalable infrastructure.

• Experience building AI products for CRM, Sales Intelligence, Revenue Operations, or Enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Experience with Agentic AI, AI copilots, autonomous workflows, knowledge graphs, and enterprise search.
• Contributions to research publications, patents, or open-source AI initiatives are a strong plus.
