Role responsibilities:

In this position you will be designing for our Accounting Firm customers, ensuring they have visibility and access to an efficient experience around each product of ours that their clients utilize.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proficiency in advocating for and aligning diverse teams to achieve overarching business objectives. This includes driving alignment between design, product, and business roadmaps and running effective working sessions that improve customer experiences at the pillar level. Be an exceptional partner with cross-functional peers in Product, Engineering, Research, Data, Content, Product Marketing, etc.
  • Advanced Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and mentor other designers at a high level, providing guidance to junior and mid-level designers. This includes coaching designers to help them improve in key development areas.
  • Cultural Influence: Co-own and champion a culture of continuous learning and growth within the design team, spending significant time focused on group-level impact above their own design work. This includes actively working with other designers across our organization to understand the nuances of their areas of the product and translate them into great experiences for accounting firms.
  • Strategic Vision: Capable of shaping the design vision for your area of the product and influencing the company's long-term product and business strategy. This involves identifying critical gaps and opportunities that drive significant business impact.
  • Extensive Industry Knowledge: Obtain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer needs. This knowledge is used to provide strategic insights and influence the roadmap from a design perspective.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to adapt communication and messaging for specific audiences, including the ability to project confidence in presentations to Director/Sr. Director and VP/SVP levels. Also effective in communicating down to team stakeholders.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Comfortable with talking to customers and partnering with Research to uncover user preferences that influence product management priorities. Has a deep understanding of user needs and integrates this knowledge into design strategies that align with business goals.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Design serving products and platforms used by a technical audience or comparable experience in similar fields
  • An outstanding portfolio demonstrating strong user experience design and delivered product experiences that influenced business outcomes. Excellent visual design is a plus.
  • A passion for building and scaling delightful products that solve customer problems.
  • A growth mindset based on curiosity and data-driven learning approaches.
  • A get-stuff-done attitude propelled by a strong sense of accountability and a positive self-starter energy.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance user needs with business goals to deliver impactful products.
  • Experience driving impact through cross-functional teams by facilitating critical conversations and making hard prioritization choices.
  • Deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product design.
  • Experience in financial or accounting software is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and analytical skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

$142,300$170,600 USD
