Senior Product Manager, Managed Phishing

You’re energized by problem solving, and you’re excited by the idea of making an attacker’s job more difficult. You have a strong grasp of tactics attackers use to gain initial access to their targets, and you have empathy for the SOC analysts who are on the front lines. You pride yourself on driving efficiency – through analytics, automation, and user experience – to make defenders’ jobs easier so that they can quickly and effectively identify and block email-based attacks.

As an MDR Services PM responsible for Managed Phishing, you are responsible for Expel’s end-to-end managed email security solutions. You own Expel’s Point of View on what a compelling, differentiated, and profitable solution looks like, and you believe the buck stops with you. You drive our email security strategy, and through effective communication and project leadership, you ensure that cross-functional teams are aligned on our mission and rowing in the same direction. You understand that even the best planned projects occasionally have “known unknown” surprises, but your attention to detail means we catch these quickly. In these scenarios, your strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills enable us to rapidly adapt to keep the project on track and keep stakeholders aligned.

If this appeals to you, we need you - like yesterday! If it sounds interesting, we’re waiting to find the right PM to take on this new role. This role reports to the Director of Product Management for Expel’s MDR offering.

  • Provide opportunities to have a measurable impact on the company’s key business metrics right away.
  • Surround you with experienced, friendly colleagues in key service delivery organizations who are all trying to make Expel’s operations scale 10x.
  • Give you a foundation you can build on. We’ve been working on this for years but know there’s a lot more we can do. In other words, you won’t be starting from scratch.

What you can do for Expel

  • Take ownership of the vision and roadmaps for our managed email security offerings.
  • Contribute to running a cross-functional team (Product Management, Detection Strategy, UX, Engineering, Sales).
  • Establish relationships with customers and use their input to distill the many requests into a roadmap that achieves maximum impact.
  • Balance a PM’s responsibility for both short term and long term results.

What you should bring with you

  • A curious, tenacious, and discerning mentality.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate across the organization, knowing when to adjust your style based on your audience
  • Familiarity with product management and software engineering processes, from defining and prioritizing requirements through to software deployment and product launches.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that cross-functional development teams have thorough requirements with clear delivery milestones
  • Understanding of fundamental SaaS business metrics (Annual Recurring Revenue, Net Revenue Retention, Gross Margin, Net Sales Efficiency) and ways to influence each one
  • Strong understanding of information security, security technologies, products and services.
  • Ability to build trust and appreciation with individual contributors and leaders across product management, engineering, security operations, business systems, sales, customer success, and technical support.
