What you can do for Expel

This role architects and optimizes the marketing technology ecosystem that drives our revenue growth. The senior manager builds seamless integrations between Marketo, Salesforce, and our ABX platform (6sense), creating data architectures that enable sophisticated measurement and automation. They design scalable data models, automated workflows, and ETL pipelines that support advanced lead lifecycle management and account-based strategies.

The position involves developing attribution models and measurement frameworks that connect marketing investments to pipeline and revenue outcomes. Working closely with Revenue Marketing, this role enhances ABX strategies through improved data integration and account insights. They create executive dashboards, conduct deep-dive analyses on funnel performance, and build predictive models for lead scoring and account prioritization.

Success means establishing data governance frameworks that ensure accuracy across all systems while maintaining GDPR and CCPA compliance. The role partners with Strategic Finance on pipeline forecasting and marketing mix modeling. They lead technology evaluation and implementation, manage vendor relationships, and develop comprehensive documentation that enables self-service analytics. Training and enabling teams on marketing technology platforms and best practices rounds out the responsibilities.


What you should bring with you

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of marketing operations experience within enterprise SaaS environments. They have 5+ years developing and executing ABX strategies including account segmentation, personalized campaigns, and sales alignment. A proven track record of building and scaling marketing operations functions with demonstrated pipeline impact is essential.

Technical expertise includes expert-level Marketo administration and advanced Salesforce proficiency including API capabilities and complex integrations. Deep experience with 6sense or similar ABX platforms for intent data modeling and account orchestration is required. Strong SQL and Python/R programming skills enable complex data analysis and automation. Knowledge of multi-touch attribution methodologies, ETL/ELT tools, and iPaaS platforms like Workato demonstrates the technical depth needed.

The role requires systems thinking to design complex architectures, advanced analytical capabilities, and strategic mindset balancing vision with practical implementation. Excellence in translating business requirements into technical solutions and presenting complex insights to executives is crucial. A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience completes the profile. Marketing automation and CRM certifications are preferred!


Additional Notes

The base salary range for this role is a base salary between $138,800 USD and $200,000 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.

We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits.

Our headquarters is in Herndon, Virginia. However, we realize that while there is a benefit to in-person interaction, good people don’t all live in Northern Virginia. Remote work is an option within the continental US.
