About the role:

Japan is an important and growing market for Forter. We have an established sales team in the region, with an existing base of globally recognisable clients including ASICS and Bandai Namco. We are looking for a regional Senior Marketing Manager to join us on a full-time basis to help us develop and execute on plans to raise our profile and grow our pipeline in the region.

The Senior Marketing Manager, Japan will report to the Global Field Marketing Director and will work closely with the Japan Sales Director and Japan Alliances Manager to adapt our messaging for the Japan market, as well as planning and executing in-market activities including events, customer advocacy, content creation, and developing our partner marketing program in the region.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Become a trusted partner to the internal Japan team, understanding their challenges and the opportunities for Forter in Japan.
  • Learn about and track the latest developments in the eCommerce market in Japan, with immediate focus on new JCA payment regulations which come into force in 2025
  • Establish marketing priorities aligned to sales priorities and required outcomes (local, regional, global)
  • Plan and implement integrated marketing plan consisting of all elements of the marketing mix - digital, content marketing, events, trade shows, direct mail, partner programs - to support Forter’s growth and to amplify awareness of our company and impact in Japan
  • Engage key personas from target accounts to build brand awareness, and drive marketing influence on pipeline and revenue (new business, cross-sell/up-sell)
  • Look for opportunities to build awareness and further differentiate Forter’s products and services in the Japanese market, e.g. developing customer case studies, working with local partners, developing our Japanese web presence etc.
  • Work with product marketing, creative and campaign team to capture local nuances and ensure you have the materials needed across channels and for lead nurture efforts
  • Track performance and report on key metrics to internal stakeholders
  • Own and manage budget and spend in partnership with the Global Field Marketing Director

What you’ll need:

  • 5-7 years of B2B full funnel marketing experience in either SaaS, Enterprise Software or Fintech organization
  • Native Japanese level proficiency or similar
  • Business English level proficiency
  • Problem solving and proactive approach to deliver on required business outcomes
  • Enjoy working with a cross-functional team - Sales, Solution Consulting, Customer Success and Partnership
  • Analytical firepower and the desire to dig into data, identify opportunities for more efficiency and then iterate
  • Experience planning and executing successful multi-touch country marketing plans that drive lead conversion and pipeline creation
  • An entrepreneurial spirit: Desire to experiment with new types of activities or content that can deliver differentiated results or help Forter’s signal cut through market noise
  • Experience using SaaS marketing tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, 6Sense and Salesloft would be helpful but not essential

Hybrid work:

At Forter, we have embraced a hybrid work model that combines the benefits of in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. As part of this exciting approach, Team members are invited to work from the office at least 2 days per week.
