We are hiring a Director of Finance to own financial planning, reporting, and operational finance. This is a strategic operator role – not a pure accounting role. You will lead FP&A, partner with outsourced accounting, drive board-level reporting, and build the financial systems and processes needed to scale a fintech company responsibly and efficiently. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with our investors and leadership team. What You’ll Do:1. Financial Planning & Analysis- Own the company’s financial model (3-statement + SaaS/fintech metrics)- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts- Develop clear KPI dashboards (ARR, gross margin, CAC payback, burn multiple, etc.)- Support scenario modeling for hiring, pricing, and growth investments- Translate strategy into financial trade-offs 2. Board & Investor Reporting- Prepare board materials (financials, KPIs, variance analysis, cash runway)- Present financial performance clearly and confidently- Serve as a trusted thought partner to CEO and investors- Support fundraising and investor diligence 3. Accounting Oversight & Close- Manage outsourced accounting team- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close- Review financial statements and ensure GAAP compliance- Own cash management and working capital oversight- Strengthen internal controls as we scale 4. Operational Finance & Back Office- Build scalable finance processes- Oversee vendor management and expense controls- Partner cross-functionally with GTM and product on pricing, unit economics, and margins- Improve financial visibility across the business 5. Strategic Partner to the CEO- Help prioritize investments and resource allocation- Provide real-time financial insight for key decisions- Act as a steady, analytical counterweight in a fast-moving environment Requirements:We are specifically looking with a strong hands-on, finance / operating background. You likely:- 7+ years of experience in startup finance- Have worked in at least one venture-backed startup (ideally post-Series A or B)- Come from an FP&A / strategic finance background- Have experience managing outsourced accounting or small finance teams- Are comfortable owning board-level reporting- Understand SaaS and/or fintech metrics deeply- Are hands-on and comfortable building from scratch- Can toggle between Excel detail and strategic narrative Bonus if:- You have fintech or payments experience- You’ve supported fundraising rounds- You’ve built finance infrastructure from $5M → $20M+ ARR
