We are now looking for an experienced Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our San Diego site to manage and continually improve the manufacturing processes, bring strong contribution to assembly methods, manual or automated and drive manual tool development. As our Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer you will feel equally comfortable working hands-on at the factory floor as well as in driving Design for Manufacturability in new product development projects.

You will contribute to product design through DFM work and collaborate closely with R&D Engineers, factories and external partners, like suppliers, as needed.

What you will do:

  • Support transfers of new designs from R&D to production.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing and R&D teams to incorporate DFM principles (design for manufacturability) into existing and new designs.
  • Engage with the sourcing team and suppliers to resolve pricing, delivery, and technical issues.
  • Work with the RMA group in the evaluation of field failures, support root cause analysis activities and implement corrective actions through design changes when required.
  • Evaluate requested product design changes from either internal or external customers and develop technical proposals for new designs.
  • Execute design changes while following Product Development Process from Design Requirements thru Design Verification/Validation, Customer Acceptance and Release to Production.
  • Design and build product test fixtures for manufacturing use.
