The Opportunity

At Root, we’ve reimagined car insurance to make it smarter, more equitable, and a better experience for all. Using technology in smartphones, we’re able to measure driving behavior to give our customers the prices they deserve.

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to define the vision for our policyholder experience including payments, billing, policy management, and customer service. The Lead Product Manager, Policyholder Experience will partner with a team of engineers, data scientists, analysts, designers, and your peers on the product team to deliver creative solutions that allow Root to grow profitably and offer a better customer experience to the widest range of customers possible.

The ideal candidate will have a strong alignment with our product vision, an analytical mindset, an entrepreneurial drive to find product-market fit, and experience working cross-functionally to identify opportunities and deliver solutions that unlock customer value. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead effectively across functions. This position reports to the director of product and requires regular interactions with the executive leadership including our founder and CEO.

Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus and offices in other locations to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.

  • Cultivate a product area backlog with ruthless prioritization using product frameworks

  • Manage dependencies between product areas and find creative ways to bring products to market

  • Facilitate team delivery events using agile delivery practices

  • Understand the health of your product area with data and customer feedback.
