The Forecasting Analytics team plays a crucial role in supporting forecasting and planning at Root. This team has primary ownership over key tools that informs Root’s long-term planning and strategy. Our goal is to ensure that leaders are empowered to understand the business and the impact different initiatives and strategies might have on Root's future.
As an Analyst II, you’ll be responsible for maintaining forecasting tools, generating financial forecasts, iterating on and enhancing forecasting tools to improve their accuracy and effectiveness, analyzing forecast performance versus actuals, and reporting on forecasting results. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Data Science, and Engineering to ensure our business decisions and strategies are data-driven and achieve optimal outcomes.

Salary Range: $94,000 - $105,000 ( Bonus Eligible)
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Run and analyze forecast scenarios to inform long-term decision-making and strategy.
- Maintain forecasting tools and frameworks to adapt to changes in the business.
- Enhance forecasting tools and frameworks to improve accuracy and effectiveness.
- Analyze forecast results to identify the root causes of discrepancies between forecasted and actual performance.
- Build and maintain forecast reporting on company-wide performance versus the company forecast.
- Identify opportunities to improve analytical methodologies or introduce new techniques to enhance analytical deliverables.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners to maintain alignment and awareness across initiatives.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- 1+ years of work experience in analytics.
- Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and BI software (Tableau, Mode, Power BI, etc.).
- Experience with programming (Python and VBA preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
- Superior problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and innovatively.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively balance ad hoc requests with long-term R&D, and consistently maintain rigorous documentation.
- Roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic and a “do-what-it-takes” attitude to efficiently execute and drive results in a fast-paced work environment.
