The Opportunity

The Business Development team collaborates with partners to design and build best in class insurance experiences. Solutions Architects work hand-in-hand with Root Sales and cross-functional teams to accelerate the adoption of Root’s embedded insurance services and solve our partners’ business problems.

As a trusted customer advocate, the Solutions Architect helps our partners understand best practices around advanced insurance solutions. The crux of the job is to provide advice and strategies for integrating with Root’s Embedded Platform.

You’ll help drive successful business outcomes across a broad set of enterprise partners through your passion for education, training, design, and technology integration. And you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build deep adoption and broad use of Root’s embedded insurance services with our partners.

Root is a “work where it works best” company, meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.

Salary Range: $100,640 to $125,800 (Bonus Eligible)

How you will make an impact:

  • First line of support and contact person for our partners’ technical staff

  • Serves as technical support for troubleshooting new integrations as well as existing integrations currently live in market

  • Understands how to interpret partner needs and surface with the right internal groups

  • Focus on execution, efficiency, and speed to market

  • Responsible for exceeding and managing partner expectations

  • Utilize your deep technical knowledge of Root’s Embedded Platform APIs

  • Contributes regularly to technical documentation based on partner feedback

  • Understands the partners’ requirements and is able to articulate technical requirements to product and engineering so that a solution can be designed and implemented effectively

  • Measure feasibility of a partner’s ask without necessarily knowing how to build it

  • Recommends creative solutions to problems that keep integrations moving forward

  • Collaborate with senior engineering leaders when contemplating solutions for new or current partners

What you will need to succeed

  • 8+ years experience in a technology domain (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)

  • 3+ years experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures

  • Experience in business to business API integration

  • Experience in business to business data sharing solutions

  • Understanding of insurance use cases a plus
