Product Designer
Rose Rocket
Rose Rocket 🚀 is a market leader in Transportation Management Software. We’re a startup going after the $700+ billion dollar trucking industry, leading the shift to SaaS while revolutionizing the way trucking companies sell, service, and innovate. We are a “more human, less corporate” culture that is built around doing work that matters, winning as a team, and celebrating success. We’d love to hear from you if you want to build this with us.
We understand that joining a team is one of the most important decisions you make ❤️, and adding a team member is one of the most important decisions we’ll make. Through our process, we want you to get to know us and understand how you approach problems, learn, and what motivates you.
What you’ll do
You will be owning complex design problems from start to finish! You will work with several stakeholders (ie. product managers, engineering leads, etc.), translating insights from research and analytics into concepts, and designing workflows and interactions required for deployment.
You will be collaborating with a team of talented designers and engineers to build, validate, and evolve our product and processes.
You will be conducting generative and evaluative user research and sharing synthesized insights with your teammates.
You will work closely with one or multiple product teams within Rose Rocket.
You will help us elevate the Product Design team and craft at Rose Rocket.
You will also be having a lot of fun while helping to shape our product and culture!
What you bring
You have at least 2 years of work experience in a product design role. Please be sure to submit your portfolio for review when applying and include a password if applicable
You have owned, designed and shipped complex products or features from conception to launch, working with engineers and product managers to do so. You think and design for the system, rather than its parts.
You are experienced in conducting user research without a formal user research function.
You are able to confidently communicate your design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, using research insights to defend your decisions.
You have the ability to design polished, high-fidelity mockups and prototypes of your solutions using modern design tools and systems (such as Figma and design tokens).
You’re excited about designing accessible products: you have exposure to the ideas of inclusive design and are excited to build interfaces that work for everyone. Familiarity with WCAG 2.1’s AA requirements and their effect on your designs is a plus.
You have a growth mindset and a willingness to own problems and make things better through team collaboration.
Next steps
If this sounds exciting, please submit your resume and a portfolio consisting of 2-3 pieces of work or case studies. We are looking for examples of features or products that you have owned the designed solutions for. We are particularly interested in seeing your system thinking, research and analysis, rationale for your solution, as well as how you navigated any implementation challenges. Please include your portfolio password as part of the application where applicable.
Don’t sweat it if you don’t have everything listed above. We believe in growth and curiosity. If you have some of these qualities and are excited about this opportunity, then we want to hear from you!
