As our AI Engineering Manager, you'll be the vital link between our strategic objectives and their practical implementation. We're looking for a results-driven leader who can guide a team to deliver AI solutions that solve real problems in insurance underwriting. Your ability to manage complex projects, navigate technical challenges, and align AI initiatives with the specific needs of insurance underwriters will be key to our success.

Here's what you'll be doing

As our AI Engineering Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our AI initiatives, ensuring they deliver real value in the insurance underwriting space. Your role will be highly practical and results-oriented:

• Lead a team of skilled AI engineers, setting clear objectives and ensuring timely delivery of projects focused on insurance underwriting.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for all AI initiatives in the insurance domain.
• Collaborate with insurance industry stakeholders to identify high-impact AI use cases and translate them into actionable projects for underwriting.
• Oversee the selection and implementation of AI tools and technologies, always with an eye on pragmatic business value for insurance underwriters.
• Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of AI solutions for insurance underwriting.

You need these qualifications

• You have a proven track record of 5+ years managing software development teams, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
• You possess strong project management skills, including experience with Agile methodologies.
• You have a solid understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, and how they can be applied to solve problems in insurance underwriting.
• You're experienced in evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and tools for specific project needs in the insurance industry.
• You're an exceptional communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and translate insurance business needs into technical requirements.

It would be nice if

• You have hands-on experience implementing AI/ML projects in the insurance industry, particularly in underwriting.
• You've led teams in a startup environment or other fast-paced settings within the insurtech space.
• You have experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• You have a track record of staying updated with emerging AI technologies and assessing their practical applications in insurance underwriting.
